Packaging a product
As a seller you are solely responsible for the items you send until they arrive at their destination and are in the hands of the buyer. Therefore it is important to pack the items thoroughly and carefully. Proper packaging increases our customer satisfaction and we provide us a good assessment whilst we earn their trust. If our packaging was successful we will avoid:
- Negative ratings as vendor in relation to articles that don't correspond to its description.
- Cases in which the buyer ensures that the article doesn't correspond to the listing description.
Packing the item
The process of packaging an item securely tells buyers that you care about providing good service and specially your interest in the product reaching its destination in perfect condition and as you detailed in your ad. When packing a product we also seek to ensure that the item is received correctly and reducing the chances of lost or suffering some kind of damage.
Problem: Using a too large box that far exceeds the dimensions of the product may cause the item is damaged during transport to your destination.
Solution: Use a slightly larger box that article to make sure you have enough space to fill the package with cushioning material for proper protection.
Problem: If you don't use padding or insufficient protection, the item may be damaged during transportation.
Solution: Use protective equipment such as bubble wrap, balls, foam padding or paper to completely wrap around. Before sealing, make sure the package is completely closed and move to check it's properly secured, if the item has not been properly secured and moves inside, add more filler. Thisway you don't only protect the item, you also tell the buyer that you care for the safety of the products you sell.
Problem: Using a poor or littel adhesive tape when you pack an item may cause accidental opening during transport.
Solution: Close the box with tape and reinforces all openings. Use clear or brown reinforced packing tape. Don't use other tapes, they don`t have sufficient strength and the package can be opened or suffer some deterioration.
Problem: Unclear, incomplete or incorrect address in the packet can cause shipping delays or don't reach its intended recipient.
Solution: Make sure the address is correct. Add a label on the package with the deatils below and be seen clearly. Include your return address sif it's different from the sender. If you are reusing a package, cover any old label or strikeout unnecessary information.
Irregularly shaped packaging article
